57 BALLOONS
The story about the world’s first cluster balloon skydive on January 1, 1984.
"An adventure like this takes remarkable imagination, planning, and effort. Kevin's balloon ride skydive was first of its kind, and now can actually be found on many skydiver's bucket lists. An event like this required significant preparation, but Kevin’s perseverance knew no bounds, including those of gravity!"

About 57 Balloons
It Started With a Lofty Idea
On January 1st, 1984 Kevin Walsh took a wild ride over central Massachusetts toward Boston. He was carried by 57 helium balloons before successfully parachuting away (barely). 57 Balloons tells the story. Not just the funny situations along the way, but the how and the why… He also hopes that with your help, the book will be turned into a motion picture.

The Book
An Uplifting Adventure
57 Balloons by Kevin Walsh is the light-hearted story about his balloon ride on January 1st, 1984. You’ll find its uplifting in more ways than one.
The Screenplay
Kevin Walsh hopes that the story will be made into a motion picture. The screenplay, based on the true story, tells of a promise made between two strangers, about dreams, and about the ability of the human spirit to follow through on them.
About the Author
Kevin Walsh co-founded the largest skydiving center in New England, Skydive New England, in 1984.
He then started a Specialized Securities Firm (Walsh Partners, Inc.) in 1986 based around the philosophy of taking “prudent but necessary risk”.
He published his book, 57 Balloons, in 2019 and is currently hoping a film will be made based on the true story.
